You will have seen in the media recently that plans for lockdown will be changing in the coming weeks. Some preschools are preparing to reopen for children next week with new procedures in place to promote safety and social distancing. For many of us, our children will continue to be educated and entertained from home.

Dr Emily Shuckburgh OBE FRMetS - Director at Cambridge Zero, has made a video of science experiments for preschool and early primary children with a focus on the Antarctic. It is a fun resource for teaching children the properties of ice and impacts of climate change.

You will need:

  • Ice cube tray
  • Glasses or glass jug
  • Tap water
  • Salt
  • Food colouring (or instant coffee)

Feel free to share your experiments photos with us and Cambridge Zero on social media!
