March 2018

World weather review: March 2018

At the start of the month, the Beast from the East continued to cause heavy snowfall in Europe. The blizzard forced the cancellation of all flights at Dublin airport on Thursday and the temporary closure of Geneva airport in Switzerland. Large parts of the Continent continue to shiver in the grip of a Siberian weather system that has brought the coldest temperatures for several years.

UK weather review: March 2018 theWeather Club Thu, 05/04/2018 - 12:56

March was a rather cold month, overall. It started exceptionally cold with easterly winds and widespread snow as the UK experienced the tail-end of the ‘Beast from the East’. Indeed, many parts of the country failed to reach temperatures above freezing during the daytime. During the course of the first week, it began to turn milder from the south and became generally wet and cloudy as low pressure dominated until mid-month.
